Jim Sukraw - Lead Pastor

My name is Jim Sukraw and it has been my privilege to serve as senior pastor at the Pittsburg Church of the Nazarene for the past 28 years.  I grew up on a ranch in the Sandhills of Nebraska, graduated from Maxwell High, MidAmerica Nazarene University, and Nazarene Theological Seminary.  My wife, Leah, and I have been married for 34 years and have two children, and four beautiful granddaughters: Jamey, Amanda, Maleia, and Brynn Sukraw and Billy, Beth, Addison, and Isabella Foster.  I enjoy my connections with the community of Pittsburg and my fellow pastors in other denominations.  My passion is to see people come to personally know Jesus Christ and serve Him in a meaningful relationship.

Kyle Rogers - Associate/ Youth Pastor

What can I tell you about me?  I grew up in Cherokee, KS which is a whopping 12 miles from here!  I am in love with my family.  I have been married to my beautiful wife Whitney for over 11 years.  We have two awesome children, Noah and Gracie and I am extremely blessed and grateful for God's grace in my life.  I have too many hobbies, most of which involve sports or the outdoors.  I like trying new foods and trying new things.  I love to dream, create, and imagine the possibilities.  I love working on big projects.  My biggest pet peeves are being in a "rut" and not being afraid to try something different, I also don't care much for food with no spice or really cold weather.  Oh yeah I almost forgot to mention I am random. LOL!  With that being said, I hope that you will visit us soon and  may God bless you abundantly today!

Thomas Casper - Children and Family Pastor

Family info (just the raw unedited facts): I’ve been married for 13 years to the amazing, brilliant and beautiful Heidi, I’m a father to our four fantastic kids, Hannah 11, Sophie 8, TJ 5 and Sadie 2.  My favorite local restaurant is The Mall Deli of course!!! Bagel with Muenster and Smokey Cheddar for starters and the Italian Meatball Sub is perhaps the greatest thing to ever enter my stomach.  My favorite hobbies/sports are: Anything K-State, fishing, coffee brewing and coffee drinking, hanging out with the family, music, reading, did I already mention anything K-State?  What I want to be when I grow up: I’ll let you know when I actually grow up. My hidden talent: I can flick M&M’s into the air using my ears . . . it’s outstanding . . . and funny.  My desire is to see children and families not say that they are following Christ, but to actually show evidence that they are living it!!!!

Monica Thornburg - Heart Sounds Counseling Ministry/ Divorce Care

My name is Monica Thornburg and I am the Director of Heart Sounds Counseling Ministry.  I came to Pittsburg in 1999 to help set up the Children’s Advocacy Center, and served as Director for 2.5 years.  I am a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, and I desired to be a Christian rather than secular counselor, because I wanted to be able to pray with my clients before they left my office.  I have three children, Layne Rainey, of Pittsburg, Matthew Rainey, of Detroit, MI, and Amanda Rainey, of Santa Rosa, California.  Some of the things that I am passionate about are helping heal marriages, helping heal people who have been through divorce, and helping heal victims of emotional, physical, or sexual abuse with God’s help.  My hope is that you will come to me if you need a listening ear or an empathetic heart who cares.
